195 PEARL HILL CAFE

Once home to the Singapore Police Force's Operational HQ during the mid-20th century, 195 Pearl's Hill Terrace is a gazetted URA conservation building due to its rich heritage and one of the few remaining pre-WWII structures still in existence in Singapore today.

This historical building has now been transformed into a space containing hidden treasures and gems such as vibrant start-ups, boutique studios and workshop spaces, amidst others! Pearl’s Hill Terrace is hidden atop a hill as its name suggests; just above the bustling streets of Chinatown, and behind People’s Park Food Centre.

195 Pearl Hill Café isn’t just awesome coffee, pasta, satay, salads, ‘wiches, savoury eats and dessert. As the anchor tenant and only food establishment in the premise, our sheltered and open-air alfresco setting replete with expansive verandas and courtyards hosts various home-grown brands helmed by individuals with illustrious histories.

RICKSHAW COFFEE

Rickshaw Coffee bridges people through coffee conversations strengthening communities. A great cup of coffee can only taste good when you pour your heart into it.

Singapore's traditional Hainanese Coffee is unique to the world and their recipes are passed down from generation to generation. Like an artist at work, these coffee roasters lock in the bold flavours using a hand folding method to maintain the temperature of the beans. A dark nanyang roast is achieved through the caramelised sugar and butter coated on each and every robusta bean.

We roast our own arabica blends and will be launching our new COFFEE+ series of blends made for different community partners across Singapore.

PEARL HILL SATAY

The story of Pearl Hill Satay brings us back to the scene of the "Tiong Bahru Satay Man" also known as Ah Pui selling his satay illegally in the back alleys of Tiong Bahru with his iconic wooden pushcart. People in the estate would flock down and grab their satay fix before the authorities would chase him. He was the last satay pushcart hawker in Singapore before he was forced to stop after his cart was compounded. Ah Pui was with Pearl Hill for a 2 years stint where he taught his first apprentice, Ben who innovated the satay with the team to bring you new variants. The 195 Pearl Hill Satay is a made from premium cuts but retaining the traditions and practices from the early days. If you know Ben, he values the process and never just the outcomes. The artistry of satay making will always be preserved for generations to enjoy and reminisce with our signature satay sauce and pineapple puree. The proportion of meat and fats in every stick of satay promises a balance of flavours when grilled over charcoal. Together the secret sauce past down from generations for over 40 years, it has become a hot favourite for families for an afternoon snack.
